Biographical informationAh Chong (7) was born in about 1869 or 1871 in Canton, China. He migrated to Australia about 1890. He was five feet and five inches in height.
He worked as a market gardener in Northam from about 1895 to 1901. In 1901 he applied to travel overseas, intending to return within 12 months. An immigration certificate was granted 1 November that year.
In 1916 he worked on Kwong Wing's market garden, Curtis Street, Osborne Park before moving to a market garden in Charles Street, North Perth in 1919.
