DescriptionGee Hop Furniture Factory was based in James St, Perth.
In 1901, Gee Hop placed an advertisement that, "Gee Hop, Cabinet Maker, of James street, desires to notify to his friends and the public generally that there is no foundation for the rumour that the Bubonic Plague has broken out in his workshops. A malicious rumour appears to have been circulated, and, upon the visit of the Doctors, was found to be absolutely without truth." (West Australian, 24 April 1901, p.1 )
In April 1903: "NOTICE- is hereby given that the
PARTNERSHIP hitherto existing between Linew and Edward Cooper, under the style of Gee Hop and Cooper; as Cabinetmakers and Furniture Manufacturers, at 74 James-street, Perth, was DISSOLVED by mutual consent as from this 31st day of March, 1903. All liabilities of the said firm are to be discharged by the said Edward Cooper, who will carry on the said business at 74 James-street, Perth.
